Stocktake (physical inventory count)

A stocktake is a physical count of what is actually on the shelf, compared against what the system says, with the differences corrected and recorded.

Systems drift: a sale rung up twice, a delivery short one case, a breakage nobody logged. A stocktake resets the record to reality. Full stocktakes count everything, usually at year end. Cycle counts do a section at a time so the shop never has to close.

The valuable output is not the new count but the discrepancy report: which items were off, by how much, and whether the pattern points at theft, a receiving problem or a training gap.

In Inventory Now

Start a stocktake, scan the shelf, preview every discrepancy, commit, and keep the report. Undo restores the previous counts.
