Cycle count
A cycle count is a small, scheduled stocktake of one section, category or location, repeated on a rotation so the whole inventory is verified over time without closing the shop.
Instead of one painful annual count, cycle counting spreads the work: the coffee shelf on Monday, merch on Tuesday, the back room on Friday. High-value or fast-moving items get counted more often than slow ones.
Because each count is short, discrepancies are caught closer to when they happened, which makes the cause easier to find.
