The columns
| name | What the item is called. Required. |

| date | When you bought it, as M/D/YY. |
| location | Where it lives: Storefront, Warehouse, Van. |
| category / subcategory | Your own grouping, e.g. Coffee / Whole bean. |
| bought, received, sold, shipped, delivered, lost | Unit counts at each stage of the lifecycle. In stock is worked out from these and ignored on import. |
| unit buy price $, unit sell price $ | Per-unit cost and price. Cost and revenue totals are derived. |
| notes | Free text. |
| barcode, sku | Scannable code and your internal code. Keep barcodes as text so spreadsheets do not strip leading zeros. |
| image id | Leave blank; filled by exports. |
| complete (Y or N), completion date | Marks an item fully sold and closed. |
| unique id, dataset, deleted, modified at | Leave blank unless the file came from an Inventory Now export. |
Questions
Using the template
Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, LibreOffice and any text editor. It is a plain CSV with a header row and three sample rows you can delete.
